‘What if I FALL?’

‘Oh, but my darling, what if you FLY?’

ABOUT

Hello and welcome! The obligatory introductions; I am married and a mother to three wild-by-design boys. We are always looking for our next adventure. Whether that means driving through the night and three states to make it to a bike competition, selling a house and living in our converted travel trailer, or moving onto a sailboat when we don’t know how to sail; we have done it. I can also tell you that we have failed at some of these things.

I will not gush that I married my best friend; marriage is hard and we have been through some shit. I have not found my dream job, I have bounced around and am currently considering becoming a highly educated server. I do not make everything from scratch, though I try to avoid eating out of plastic and comb ingredient lists for palm oil. There are more than a few dimples on my thighs, though I love to ‘ugly sweat’ and have been known to lash out irrationally if I go a day without my hit of serotonin. We homeschool the boys, but roll my eyes at anything that involves scissors, paste, or glitter.

I have an array of interests; good food, running, travel and real estate among them. As a family, we dabble in a variety of hobbies from hockey to horseback riding to snowboarding. However, biking is king in our home, where ever that is. We’ve built our lives around supporting our passions, not because we expect our boys to ‘go pro’, but because of the life lessons they learn. The goal is not biggest and newest, it is a lifetime of incredible memories and the confidence to take risks.

We are a messy tangle of contradictions, but that’s what makes humanity so interesting.

THE WHY

Why am I putting our story into words and why would you want to follow along? If you boil it down this is just another mommy lifestyle blog; one of a million. I suppose what makes this special is that it is our lifestyle. This is a space to tell our story through an honest and genuine lens.

I know there are many out there who value experiences over possessions and are not satisfied with ordinary. This is for those veering from the traditional trajectory. Those who are comfortable with a little bit of discomfort because that is how character develops.

I think that each of our unique perspectives and set of experiences are interesting and worth considering. I want to share my interests and ideas in hopes that you will do the same; a two- way street. This is about building community, relationships, and inspiring one another. Comments ON.
